Tomorrow May 27 the new British government’s political programme will be published in the Queen’s Speech to the parliament. A very important chapter in it – for expats – is whether all British citizens living outside the UK will get the right to vote, also those who have been away more than 15 years? The Conservatives promised to abolish the 15 year rule during the election campaign. So now is the moment!
And will EU citizens living and working in the UK get the right to vote in the coming referendum?
If both groups will get the right to vote it would be a great political contribution to an active European citizenship.
So watch the speech tomorrow!
